About a week ago a question came up where someone asked whether it was better to go with one larger server or two smaller ones. The end result was that I had shared my experiences with a virtualization package called OpenVZ.

I've been running OpenVZ on my server for about 6 months now and the level of performance I've gotten from this single box is significantly higher than I had ever expected. There's no specific details at the link below, it's just meant as a primer and a quick glimpse into what I've done in my setup.
