I'm running 3.6.1, and I downloaded the patch that was released for 3.6.2, but did not UPGRADE to 3.6.2. If I just download 3.6.3, and upload all the files in the upload folder, and then run www.mysite.com/forum/install/upgrade.php (http://www.mysite.com/forum/install/upgrade.php), will it be a simple upgrade, or will I have to empty my database first, and then dump the contents back into it after upgrading? (I REALLY don't want to have to do that if I don't have to. Just want to know what to expect. I'm very new to VB, and have never upgraded.) Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks!

You will never have to reload your database before an upgrade, we do however advise to make a full backup.
There should be no problem upgrading to 3.6.3.

OK - have the same question. So just make a backup and make a full upgrade to the new version from 3.6.1 to 3.6.2 will not give any problems ?

3.6.1 -> 3.6.3 should be no problem IF you have not installed any modifications, plugins, add-ons, etc.
If you have, then you should verify at vBulletin.org by reading the discussion thread for each mod you have installed that it still works on 3.6.3. If you upgrade and a Plugin goes haywire, you can disable Plugins by adding a line to /includes/config.php.
Also, any templates that you have modified such as navbar, postbit, etc. are now "frozen in time" at 3.6.1 and any bugfixes or improvements in 3.6.2 or 3.6.3 that affect those templates will not be applied to your forum. Use the template compare tool to sync up the changes. Most changes are cosmetic or minor bugs but you should check the Announcements when 3.6.2 and 3.6.3 came out to see the nature of template edits and how important they are.
