What happens to customized styles and Vboard options?

I have two VB licenses, one is still V. 3.0 (To view the product's home page, please visit this URL:
http://www.gestaltnetwork.net/forums/index.php) (http://www.gestaltnetwork.net/forums/index.php%29). I have not opened the forums yet, so there are no posts or members. I have designed six styles with minor template changes (colors, borders - that's about all) for six separate forums and have set all the V Board options to my specifications. My question: When we install the upgrade to 3.6 what will happen to 1) the VBoard options I have set and 2) the template changes in the styles I have created?
Will I have to "revert" and start all over in 1) my VBoard options section and/or 2) my individual Styles?

Thanks.

The upgrade process does not change customized templates in anyway. Each upgrade announcement will have a list of template changes and you will have to apply those changes to your custom templates manually. Your options and settings will not be touched.

Unfortunately, there are massive template/style changes from vB3.0 to 3.6.

If you have substantially modified navbar, header, FORUMHOME, postbit, etc. then users will not be able to post and moderators will not be able to do any of their moderation tasks if you try to run a 3.0 style on a 3.5.x or 3.6.x forum.

You may want to export the 3.0 styles you created as 6 XML files, install a fresh 3.6 forum, import the 3.0 styles, and start cleaning up the mess, so to speak. vB3.x contains a template comparison tool. If you have already done a bunch of other setup including creating forums and permissions, then you can safely upgrade from 3.0 to 3.6 but again you will probably need to heavily redact your templates to match all the changes and improvements in 3.6. Most of the things that require 3-4 clicks in 3.0 are now done with 2 clicks via AJAX and Javascript in 3.6.
