Upgrade from 3.5.4 to 3.6.2 Is it worth it?

I have Advanced CMS installed on my board and wasn't sure if the upgrade would be worth the effort I would have to put into it? Should I just wait for another 3-4 months?

It is always advisable to upgrade to the latest stable version to ensure you're protected against any vulnerabilities in older versions that have been fixed. Also the latest version will contain bugs fixes.

You can patch the version you have, but I would recommend performing the upgrade unless there is a significant reason not to.

vBAdvanced.com is good about providing the necessary instructions for you to upgrade your forum AND front page to a new version of vBulletin. Read before upgrade!
