Ok, I read these boards daily, and time and time again, I am seeing different people posting the same exact questions that have been answered thousands of times before. Stuff like I get an error on step 3 of the install, please help, how can I password protect a forum, I just moved to a new host how can I transfer my database I think that we should have a sticky thread in every forum detailing the significance of using the search feature, and how beneficial it could be. Not only would it save that poster time, but it will also save a lot of bandwidth, as well as allow members, senior members and the developers to answer "new" questions so to speak. I was wondering what other members think of this idea?

It's a great idea. :) Unfortunately the people that would benefit most from this type of thread wouldn't read it, as evidenced by the (sticky) FAQ in one of the 2.0 forums, yet there are still questions daily on topics covered in it.

I have a habbit of turning search off, its a waste of indexing for the search table, no one ever has used it on some of my sites, its horrible, but thats life....
