Good morning,

We recently purchased vBulletin the other day for our company.

I have seen this error on one or two forums but have no real definitive answer to what is causing the problem. I assume it's a server config problem.

We are running a Windows IIS on an internal intranet for our company. I have uploaded all installation files and configured the config.php file accordingly.

When running the install script I am immediately greeted with the following error:
CGI Error

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

Could someone please assist us in trying to rectify the issue. We cannot post the URL as it's an internal site and cannot be accessed from any public domains.

thanks,
Mark:D

Hi Marco,

I have this request into our IS department. We provided them with the requirements prior to installing vBulletin so I will confirm this for you.

I am the web developer and am familiar with installing vBulletin on Apache server configurations, Windows IIS is a little more tricky!:)

Also please the Windows, IIS and MySQL version you are using.
How is PHP installed. If as CGI, try instaling as FastCGI.

This is definitly a server configuration error, that only occurs on windows installations with IIS and PHP running as CGI.

You can find a lot of information in some bug tickets on php.net (for example: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=25863) but there don't seem t be a concensus on the cause of it.

Edit: And yes, Apache is a lot easier (at least for me)

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the info - I have forwarded it to our IS team as well. We're still awaiting a response for you regarding the current software in place on our server. Once confirmed I'll pass that along to you.

Regards,
Mark
