How do you handle all the people in the Users Awaiting Email Confirmation list ? I´m considering deleting them, since many are very old - I already mailed them several times, but I still have 30 people in the list.

I prune all people who haven't activated after a month.

Is prune the same as delete a member ?

Prune = mass deletion.

Ok, I did it.

Also deleted all the members that are potentially spammers - do we have a list somewhere of maildomains ? It would be cool, to work together against these damn spammers.

Yes I was just searching on this topic.. wondering what to do...

Interesting..

Do you think our large Users Awaiting Email Confirmation ? (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1210504#post1210504) list is due to folks using junk email adresses when they sign up?

I am temptd to put up a message like .

WARNING! - If you register with a bogus emial or junk email adress that you never check.. you wont get our confirmation email and will not be able to post! Dont worry about giving us a real address - we rarely contact our members - we value your privacy!

Is there a registration message text area I could put that in simply, via the admin Control panel? - or do I have to get in and hack / mess around with code? (too over my head....)

thanks!

:)

Every other day or so I get 'why cant I post?" emails - it is usually that they havent confirmed - (or our email has been diverted to their trash / junk mail - and they have never seen it..)

cool tip re pruning.. just did it for all that are 3 months old.. with zero posts..

I usually move them so they are registered members. I thought maybe some of them got the welcome email in their spam box and never found it.

I was just thinking about what to do! I installed an old board that I closed in March of 2003 and found that there were 512 members who never confirmed their emails. Of course since it's been this long since the board was online, all of my 3,014 members emails most likely don't work anymore! :D
