Oh, I misunderstood what he meant. I didn't know about this affiliate progam. (Just signed up, haha).
How do we get referred, do they enter our username in a field when buying a license, or some other way?

Youd add a referal url to your ads and they get sent here and a cookie stored when they purchase.

Ah, I'm looking for the link now, haha.
By the way, there's a missing image for VB under the CJ site under VBulletin Details > Get Links > Content Link > Link Detail
that points to
http://www.vbulletin.com/images/cj_top.gif
which doesn't seem to exist.
As well, all the folders under the image dir seem to be empty.

It should be http://files.vbulletin.com/images/cj_top.gif

Oh? I was just going by the code on the Web site that we're given, which contains the 404'ed image. Can you guys edit that (on CJ) for others who might be a bit confused?
Thanks for the correction!

I wouldn't know to be honest, but I'll see if we can update it.

Thanks for looking into it!
Hopefully this will help a poor college student like me to earn some residual income every month/year/decade.
Hmm, however the image/cookie thing is a bit cumbersome for referring, but it works. It'd be nice if there was an option when buying VB of "Who referred you". The field would use AJAX that searches the user table for the name as it's being typed (for ease of use, and better chance of not mispelling a name).
But that's just in my head, haha. I'll try to think of a way to impliment this way too. It's cool we have this affiliate program.

I had my cj application to the affiliate program denied. Are there specific rules one must get followed to get approved?
If there's no problem, how would I go about reversing this?
TIA

We expect users using our affilate program to be license holders.

OK thanks.
You might put that in the affiliate description (there's currently no mention of this.)
Assuming I buy a license. who would I contact to get approved? CJ doesn't seem to let you re-apply once denied.

I would assume you'd have to contact our business manager and he would then be able to take care of it.
You can write to our sales department first to verify this.
