3.5.4 to 3.6 Error

I attempted to upgrade from 3.5.4 to 3.6 and was then unable to get to my forums the error was something about failure to call 1st slave, when there wasn't any slave databases listed in the config.php file.

I ended up doing a fresh install to 3.6, but now I'm wondering, is there a way to import all my users and posts since I have a backup of the database?

Yes, you can import your data using ImpEx.

Following the instructions doesn't seem to work. I've uploaded all the files, and when I goto the admincp like it says here,
How to Use ImpEx From your Admin Control Panel (admincp/ by default), select Import > Import and select the system you wish to import, from the list.

Please note that the ImpEx system is written for version 3.5.0 and higher.

Now that you have installed ImpEx and selected the system to import from you are ready to do the actual import
I don't see any import ...

Did you move a copy of the xml file that came with impex into your forums includes/xml/ folder...if not it wont show
