Database on same server, but different domain?

I am wanting to use IMPEX to import my vB 3.5.4 board to a fresh install of 3.6 on a different domain. I know it's best to have the source database located on the same machine as the target board, but does it have to be restored just on the same server (IP address) or restored on the same domain as the target domain? Thanks.

In the impex config.php, for the source server would I put "localhost" because it's on the same server (but different domain) or the IP address instead?

If the database is on the same server you use localhost.

Cheers mate, I have already done the import and it went seamless. I am loving 3.6 :)
