Hello, I just recently imported, and the passwords don't work for none of the user accounts...admins, mods, users, doesn't matter. the only one that work was the first account that i made when I setup VB.
Did the passwords for the accounts not import?

Depends, what system did you import from?

As noted on the IPB2 impex page, no their passwords to not import due to the password storage methods they use.

so you're telling there's no way to get the password? besides, telling them to reset their own passwords? please tell me that's not the only way because, i didn't think switching to VB would require something like this...
i mean...this could cause members to vanish and never come back...

Yes, thats what I'm telling you, and yes they will need to reset their password. Yes it is the only way. and it is said on the impex page.
Many IPB2 users have switched and their forums never seemed to suffer that much.

Since IPB passwords are encrypted, they cannot be imported. Your users will need to reset their passwords after the import. You can read more about this here:

The IPB2 password issue is noted in the manual as well as the way to deal with it.
