Is there a sure way of measuring how much bandwidth I'm (or rather, my forum/traffic) using?
Also, can i measure the mysql database size and - aside from downloading everysingle file - can i determine my website (inc. forum) sizes?
I ask because my lease will expire soon. Currently my host offers unlimited everything-above, but I'm not too keen on the speed of my forum. I'm looking at other options, but have no indication what i should be looking for where my bandwidth & mysql sizes are.
I find my host to be pretty good with the majority of things, but the speed at which the pages load sometimes disturbs me, especially as i'm on a 4mb connection (6mb, but slowed to 4mb via wifi network) and I dread to think how painfully slow it must be for dial up users. I'm confident it isn't my laptop causing the delays as although it's a few years old, it's still more than adequately beefy for today's systems.
According to my stats (those free ones you embed in the page) roughly 1/4 of my viewers are dial up, and hence that is a considerable amount of potential traffic to lose.
