i noticed when messages with attachments are quoted, there is no indication of attachments.

it would be better if when these kinds of messages are quoted, maybe a link of the attached files can be embedded?

attachment_id_number or the file names.

in a word, just somehow it should contain link to the files so that the post makes sense and easier for other users to follow what is being said or referred to.

thanks.

I don't think quotes should quote the attachments too.

I don't think quotes should quote the attachments too.

Sometime it is better that the attachment is not quoted and other times it is better that it is. For example lets say the first 10 posts of a thread are pictures with one attachment per post. If a member wishes to comment on a particular picture then they simply quote the post and then the picture would show and a comment can be made.

I have set my forum to quote attachments (only images) and it works great.

Hey guys, thanks for replying.

well, i'm not saying attachments to be quoted, but rather somehow show that original message contains files. it could even be indicated maybe by a special icon?
