For those of you upgrading that don't want to overwrite what they have but want to load the changes that have been made to the templates, etc. I would suggest getting Beyond Compare (http://www.scootersoftware.com/quick32.html) from Scooter Software. This will enable you to compare the two files and just make the changes you need.

I always wondered, how exactly does that program work?
and can anything go wrong?

It works by giving you two windows that allow you to compare one files' contents with the other. Its like using your file manager and you see the table on contents on the left and the files on the right. This way you see the contents of the new file in one window and the contents of the older file in the other. It highlights the differences between the two files. So if only one line changes that is all you have to worry about. Then you can click on an arrow at the top of the program that allows you to basically copy and paste the contents of the new file into the old or visa versa.
It has worked great with UBB and made the hassle of remembering which line of code you have changed and want to keep and still upgrade to the latest and greatest.
It is a text based program to so it saves the file in the proper formatting. You can also save a copy if you want of the orginal file before you made changes to it so that if you screw up something you still have a backup copy.
I cannot recommend more that you go get this great program. It will make you update nightmares a thing of the past.

Beyond Compare is a GREAT program. It was a god send when dealing with a hacked UBB that you were trying to update. Plus, it was easy enough even for me to use! :)
