Did a search but couldn't find if this had been suggested yet.

When setting up user options, it is possible to prevent users from placing Moderators and Admins on ignore. I'd like to take this one step further and allow staff members to be able to send PMs to users who have turned the function off. Doable?

I believe that this is already implemented to some extent, I'm sure admins will be able to send PMs to users whatever the circumstances anyway.

They can indeed, you can't place admins on your ignore list.

Admins can also override the pm quota and the only receive pms from your buddys.

I'd like to see this expanded to all staff positions. Currently, our moderators have to resort to email to contact certain members if they have the PM function turned off. Would be nice to have the system allow mods and admins send a PM to those that have it turned off. It would also be nice to be able to do it without heading into the AdminCP. ;)

This only overrides the quota, and not the ones that turned off emails, but it's a usergroup option and doesn't have to be done from the admincp.

If the user has turned off PMs, the only option I've been able to find is to head into the AdminCP to send it. The option doesn't show up elsewhere.

And this doesn't help my moderators who don't have the option in their CP.

Where in the AdminCP can you send a PM to a user?

I think its a hack he is using to do that.

User Manager > Quick User Links > Send Private Message to User

This redirects to the frontend to send the message.

Correct. For users who have PMs turned off, it's the only way to send one as an Admin. Moderators should be able to send PMs to these individuals as well.

I think he's asking for a link somewhere to send PMs to the user like the profile :)

You can type in the name into the PM window though.

As Scott said, even if the link doesn't show up, you can send PMs by typing the name in the To: field.
Also, the link from the AdminCP doesn't allow you to send PMs to user that have the PM function turned off either.

This is what I'm asking for. The ability to do so. ;)
