I'm currently using PHP 4.3.10, but I can easily upgrade to the latest release of PHP 5 on my server.

The only scripts on my server right now are vBulletin and a Coppermine Photo Gallery.

I also recently upgraded to vBulletin 3.6- would switching to PHP 5 offer any performance improvements? Would you recommend my switching to PHP 5, or should I stick with what I have now? Are there any compatibility risks involved?

Thanks for your help :D

Our recommended versions at the moment are PHP 4.4.2 or 5.1.2 or later.
I recommend to upgrading to either of these, though I can't tell you how much of a performance increase you'll see.

I want to go to PHP 5.1.2 or later but my host tells me that it will break cPanel and Zend.

I upgraded to PHP 4.4.2 (from 4.4.1 lol) and MYSQL 5.0.21 (from 4.x) yesterday. :)
