Our Sysadmin is thinking about to get a new machine, because the vBulletin is very slow at the peak time. Here are the facts about the forum:
Threads: 39,695
Posts: 305,063
Members: 8,139
Average users online: 200
Most users ever online: 1045
Average new Threads: 40
Average new Postings: 350

Please say me a configuration which is effort able ;)

You could just get an AMD 64 Bit Dual Core 2 GB for around 80 € and then additionally get server management for around 50 €. You could also consider an AMD 64 Bit 1 GB for around 40 € and save some money.

If most of your users are guests, I suggest you'll take a look into my product (see my signature), as it helped my forum gaining a lot of speed.
