phpbb2 import problems

First and formost... I wish I found Vbulletin before phpbb. There's no comparison.

In importing the data, all seems well except for a few problems and wondering if anyone can assist me here.

So I imported all info... Users, forums, threads, posts, smilies, attachments etc. But I have several problems.

- On the main page, the thread count and post count show zero even though there are threads and posts present, how do I correct that?

- all posts show a date of: 12-31-1969 ??

- I lose most of the BB Coding

- I loose all attachments

- While I show a total members count at the bottom of each page... you can not view them in the member list, unless I actually edit each one by hand and change the group category for them. Right now they are all imported into Imported User Group... I hav eto change them into Registered Users Group for them to show in the Member List

- Lose member's avatars

- The smilies are lost, but the codes and URLs are there. This is not a big deal.. I can do this manually.

Why did I have all these problems? Did I do something wrong?

Have you run the 'After an Import' instructions?

Go through these and see what issues you still ahve.

Thanks for the reply.. I didnt because the site was niot up and running correctly. It states:

Once you have finished and completed an import and your site is up and running, delete all the ImpEx files, this will ensure that if you do another import in the future you will get the latest version, as you will have to download ImpEx again.

So being that it was not running correctly I didnt... I will try all this though.

Great!!! Most of the problems work now. Still lost Avatars... Not a bug deal. Still had a problem with smiles... Fix that manually and still lost Attachements. No big deal!
