I'm wondering about floppy drives and who's comps have it.
My comp no longer has a floppy drive. I even have the FDD controller disabled through BIOS.

1 in the desktop, 1 module for the laptop, 5 or so in the cupboard and now in the bin since reading this.
Used for BIOS updates and memory checkers usually.

None in the PC which I'm currently using so I voted no. But there is one in the laptop, and one in the shell (a PC with no hard-drives so can't call it a PC at the moment) but I can't remember the last time I used them anyway

built my current PC myself, bought a DVD RW drive and have a USB pen. Floppy went the way of the dinosaur for me a few years back now.

I have an external USB floppy drive. It can come in handy every now and again.

Not in my MDD but my Beige G3 has one, haven't used it (other then to try and get Debian on it last year) since the 90's. If I had waited 6 months and gotten a Blue and White well then no floppy.

Nope. Apple ditched floppies quite a few years ago; and my PC laptop doesn't have one, either.

There's one on the PC I use. I added it as the transit agency still sends me stuff on floppies now and then.

I don't have any floppy drives. With bootable optical media and USB flashdrives, they simply are not needed anymore.

My laptop has one, and theres one sat on the shelf from when I ripped my old PC to bits.
Originally it got used all the time when I was working on both the laptop and the 6th-form computers (easier than having to find a USB port on the back of a PC then realising the thing is still running Windows 98 and cant auto-detect the flaming USB pen).
Doesnt get used very often now, only if I have some old work on a disk that I need to check. With USB pens and my mp3 player for file transfer and quick backup then CDRW and DVDRW (when I work out how to use the thing) for bigger things I just cant find an excuse to use summat that holds 1.44 MB

Yep. Last time I used it was about a year ago when I needed to format the MBR. Though I won't be placing one in the next computer I buy.
