Hi All
I am new here and new to needing a host company. I have no idea what I am doing and would appreciate any feedback.
I have a site on godaddy using website tonight, just a template site that I did myself. It is a travel agency site and I really need a discussion board. I am familiar with using VBulletin on other sites and like it.
What I need is a host company where I can purchase a shared server and run VBulletin on it and link my website tonight site to it.
I have no administrative expereince at all.
Any suggestions?
I welcome all suggestions,
Christine:)

So you dont have a live forum at the moment but you intend to purchase hosting space and install vBulletin ?

If thats the case, you can start off small and gradually upgrade your plan as you grow. Just be sure NOT to consider webhosts who limit your CPU usage/time (essentially meaning that your forum/site could get disabled if it gets too busy).

When you search on google for webhosts, you can search webhostingtalk.com for reviews on these hosts. However I would recommend www.asmallorange.com (http://www.asmallorange.com)

They're pretty popular on here

Christine, there are plenty of hosting providers out there that would suit you fine. If you are new to the game, have you thought about using a free remotely hosted forum then linking to it on your GoDaddy website? Might be the thing to do.

When the time comes (and you learn more), secure real hosting with all the bells and whistles elsewhere. Again, there are plenty of choices. The incorporate the entire website including your forums and webpages together in one place.

Just a though. :)

Most probably, you will be able to host it in your godaddy account itself. You need PHP+MySQL, which must eb there already !
