I'm currently making a theme for my forum that is extremely dark purple. I've managed to go through nearly all the images for the forum and add a dark background to them as the default ones had a little white edge.

Under the "Image Paths" section of the "StyleVars" in my new theme I have managed to change the location of all sections to bring up my newly created darker images. The last one I can't seem to find is for the Post Icons though. The only ones I have left as default is Attachment Icons Folder, Text Editor Controls Folder and Poll Images Folder, as those don't seem to be it.

I can see the post icons are under "http://myforum.net/images/icons/icon7.gif, and have uploaded my new images to /images/mytheme/icons/... but can not for the life of me figure out how to get the new theme to show them. What am I missing that is probably so very obviously staring me in the face?

You need to edit post icons in your
AdminCP -> Post Icons -> Post Icon Manager

If I upload the new images with the dark background, won't that change it for all themes? That would leave the lighter themes with images in little black squares. Is there a way to only change it for this theme?

Yes, it will. Post Icons and Smilies can't really be set per style currently.

There's a workaround for this using a replacement variable though: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170654

Aah ok, I just thought it would have been like the other images. No worries, I will have a read through that thread and either change them or leave them. It's only a small selection of images, not sure if it's enough to worry about. :)

Thankyou
