* Type: Merge, havn't used Impex before.
* Source: VB 2.3.8
* Target VB 3.5.4.
* No errors during importing

Okay I have been practising my import on a test board which is using an exact copy of the database I wish to import to. All I really want to do is import threads from an old forum section from an old back up into my current forum. Member base is the same other then any new registrations since the old backup.

What I did was reinstall 2.3.7, restored the backup, and upgraded to 2.3.8. Everything works fine so I then had my host copy the database of the current forum (3.5.4) into a new database and then configured my test board to use that database which also worked fine.

Anyway I then installed Impex and went through the imports for the groups, users, forums, threads, posts, polls and moderators. I then updated my counters. I had 3 imported users including myself, I was able to fix that fine. The source board seems to have imported fine and is sitting under my target forum. Theres about 10 extra members but I've probably deleted some since the old backup so that should be fine.

My problem is that in my target forum all the users minus myself, another administrator and users that registered since the old backup don't seem to be associated with their posts any more. Everything is fine in the imported forum but in the one I want to import into it is not. Their names are greyed out, no avatars, post counts or profiles etc...
I went through the imports again and on the user import I checked yes to associate users with the same email addresses, I then went through the counters again, rinse and repeat.
Still not fixed. I have searched through this section for ideas but still don't know how to fix this?

Just wanted to add I deleted duplicate user groups that I found in custom groups, updated counters and still not fixed.

Thanks

I had a funny feeling it was my backup so I decided to restore the old backup again and try again and everything looks fine this time so will do it on live, wish me luck :)
