My licence expires this month

I have downloaded the latest version (3.5.4), but on my server I have an older one. If my owned licence expires this month, do I have to upgrade within the validity period or it doesn't matter, since the download was made during this period?

If you have an owned license, you can upgrade whenever you like. You'll also have access to the download after the expiry date, simply not to new versions released after that date.
