If this works like it does at http://www.straightdope.com items 1 and 2 will not appear in the topic title when I choose "preview" prior to submission.

Hmmm, it's even worse. A preview causes items 1, 2 & 4 to be deleted from the topic title. I shall now try a new thread without choosing to "preview" prior to submittal.
