I thought I'd post this in here, I am on a shared host but if I can tell them what needs fixing, they will fix it. It is a server issue for certain.

I have for ages had a problem wherby my 'most users ever online' does not update. I decided to live with it and remove the text, although I became aware it was caused by a server issue when i restored a copy of my forum to a different server on another host...the feature worked.

Today I have had a problem whereby the post totals in AdminCP > Statistics had not updated for a while. I rebuilt The stats and it updated, but is now stuck again at that point. It will update if I rebuild stats again, but otherwise it will not. Again on a mirror on a different server, it works fine.

It has suddenly dawned on me that the two issues are related. There's clearly some sort of server configuration that allows whatever updates those stats to actually update, and on my server it is either turned off or broken!

Do any of your server experts have any idea what this might be? I know very little about server configurations, but the hosts will alter anything that needs to be altered.

This is what my server is:
Apache/1.3.34 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.3.11 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.25 OpenSSL/0.9.7a
