Search Question

I converted my 3.5.4. over to text searches through sql and not the built in vB a few weeks ago. Not that I was having a server load problem, but I have noticed better loads since doing so.

My stupid question of the day is: The default search return in settings is 500 matches. Whether it be vB or mysql, if this value was decreased to say 250 or lower would I see more improvement with server load? Or, would I just be reducing HTML only?

Yes, decreasing this will improve server load though it's difficult to say by how much. It really depends on how often search is used.
