I bet! Three quarters of the companies with which I've worked with have asked for sites based on shades of blue.

I guess this is good news for vBulletin and IPB, then.

I thought it was common knowledge that people prefered blue? I always assumed that was why women liked the color of my eyes. :p

I suppose, but for all intensive purposes, it's within the blue hues.

Blue is nice, however a nice black and white theme catches my eye just as well...however...the color of the website does not make me want to buy from them any more than any other business.

If they offer a quality product or service, I honestly don't care if they have a text-based website :).

I'm not sure if this is exactly true, it sounds like another one of those half-arsed researches. Blue is without doubt the most popular colour, but does that absolutely mean that blue websites are therefore the most popular? I don't know, I'm just reminding people that they shouldn't believe every story they read like this. :)

Heh, I love themes like that too. I'm working on a skin like that for my RP site. :)

Though I admit, I love blue... which is why my other site will be dark blue. :D

Did anyone read that link?

On the contrary, another website included in the study was the vBulletin community forum ( forum.vbulletin.com ). This website is based on a purple color scheme. Users commented that purple was unsettling; a majority of respondents describing the site as "an eyesore" or "horribly uncomfortable."

*cough*

I like to think of it as "overlooked." :p

If they think this site is an eyesore, they haven't seen man skins I think.

I'm guessing the study itself (not the report) was done before vBulletin 3 was released... The current color scheme is about as far away from purple as you can get without being... orange?

Oh, and I knew all along about the blue. Blue is good. :)

That's a wack "study".

Watch everyone make blue websites. These people are basically saying that ALL websites should be blue, because they are more "stylish" or whatever their reason is. The vBulletin theme looks great to me, it just took me a while ot get used to it. I musta dmit, the IPB theme is much, much better. But, hey, vBulletin theme system > IPB theme system.

It's not an entirely whack study per-se. It is well known that color influences mood, behavior.

For example, I read over at Boeing that some of their newer planes are emitting a reddish theme colour during meal time to make the food more appealing. Some planes ceilings will change to blue to make you feel more relaxed and calm.
