When I press the import button within the import table of the admin panel, I get this error
ImpEx Database errormysql error: Link-ID == false, connect failed
mysql error:
mysql error number: 0
Date: Tuesday 07th of March 2006 04:18:04 PM
Database: vbulletin_forum
MySQL error:
I have as far as I can tell installed it correctly. The only problem I can see, is that the new forums, and my old forums are running off the same server.
Any help would be appreciated to how I can import my users and posts from my current forums

It seems as if your ImpexConfig.php file isn't set up correctly.
Doublecheck the settings there.

I'm sure the details are correct. I'v left the top part normal as it says, and the bottem part is filled in with my database details, which I'v checked.
I have a feeling its sharing the same database for both forums, should that be a problem?

No, that shouldn't be a problem.
Can you start a support ticket, providing your FTP and AdminCP login details please, so that I can look at the issue?

I cant find it under support on the main page, faq, and not in the CP.
Any help would be much appreciated tho :)

thanks Colin, looking a little closer to the final mark now :)
It's imported all the users fine, but all the posts although it says they have imported dont show. Same with the forums and threads. Any ideas?

Please follow the 'After the Import' instructions here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/impex_cleanup?manualversion=30501500
This should solve those issues.

Thanks, working much better now.
Only last problem is all users in their old posts appear as
!##NULL##!*username*!##NULL##! (http://www.the-causality.com/forums/member.php?u=393)
thoughts? :)

Offhand I'd say that looks like a style problem. Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

yep I have. Still the same though
You can check this now on www.the-causality.com/forums as its been added as a style.
It's very odd...
