Seems like we run a little slower than we should given the resources
we have. Just want to run it by the professionals.

You have the most buggy mysql 4.0.22 version so i'd definitely get that upgraded. PHP 4.3.10 also is a buggy version with known high load issues.


try the following suggestions

1. Upgrade MySQL server to 4.0.25
2. Remove Zend Optimiser from php.ini
3. Upgrade PHP to 4.4.1 if you use phpadsnew make sure to update to phpadsnew 2.0.7 to work with PHP 4.4.1
4. Edit /etc/my.cnf and place the following mysql server settings in /etc/my.cnf and restart mysql server afterwards

5. Install APC Cache lastest version from http://pecl.php.net/package/APC. Read install guide at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165367

6. If you just upgraded to vB 3.5.x and have load issues after above changes try to disable these 4 options:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> Display Logged in Users?

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Display Options (forumdisplay) -> Show Users Browsing Forums

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Thread Display Options -> Show Users Browsing Thread

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Searching Options -> Automatic Similar Thread search

I see they upgraded me to PHP 4.3.10 which I assume is the latest. You guys said it is buggy and prone to high loads. What version should I use?
