Why is homestead so expensive, for example 100mb of file storage and 15 gb of bandwidth come up to be 19.99 a month. Small orange on the other hand offering 1000mb of storage space and 25 gb of bandwidth is only 10.00 a month?

Please don't bump your posts for at least 12 hours.

There are lots of reasons some hosts are more expensive and others arnt. One could be just trying to take advantage of people, some hosts oversell bandwidth and storage, etc.

Not nessarly, realisticly 1gb of space on scsi drives means less than 50 accounts just by usage.

There is also backups.

Yeah, but 1000mb of space for 19.99 month, thats a joke!

I can get that with my host for £25 year. Not the same bandwidth with it though. But the space there offering is very low for that price in anybodies book

Not necessarily. Depends on many factors, such as the target market, costs of operations, quality, etc.

So is homestead like one of the best hosts ever? For 10 bucks you get 5 gigs of bandwidth and 25 mb of storage??? And at godaddy.com, for 3.95 a month you get 250 gigs of bandwidth and 5 gigs of storage..... lol, talk about inequality's. So i'd assume homestead is overpriced but very very good and goddaddy and other hosts like dreamworks are pure garbage?

GoDaddy really isn't suited for vBulletin hosting, much like Yahoo. I've never heard of DreamWorks personally, although Homestead, much like Yahoo was a free now paid hosting provider.

It really depends on what you need. vBulletin will normally eat up around 3-4MB's right off, so 25MB's isn't going to get you too far :).
