I have successfully fended off an assult by non-technical people in my company who were promoting a complete bulletin board product that had forums, image gallery and blogging software all from the same company.

as a 5 year user of VB and Photopost I was able to fend them off and stick with VB and PP for a new website, but now I have to come up with a solution fo the blogging requirement.

any recommendations?

we want to allow forum members to create their own blogs and of course - they blog home page should have a searchable index of blogs and their posts or profile in vb should have a link to their blogs.

any suggestions?

There are a couple options that I know of.

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96462

The first is a CMS intergration (Drupal), the second is a vBulletin add-on and doesn't require a second script. I don't know enough about them to give an opinion one way or the other on how good they are at getting the job done.

There is also a myspace clone in development: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=82930&highlight=blog+intergration

There may be blog software out there (hopefully in php) that will intergrate with vBulletin. Blogs are not really my thing so I'm afraid I'm not much help.

Hope you find what you're looking for. :)

You could call vbAdvanced a blogging system, I guess. It is very flexible and easy to install and use. www.vbadvanced.com

If you played with it, you could turn vBAdvanced into a blogging system using forums as categories.
