Host that works with VB and accepts adult content

I need a QUALITY host that can handle a good size vb and fully database driven site, that also allows adult content. So far all the ones I've checked out from other threads in this forum don't allow adult.

Unfortunately, the host I've been using for years doesn't seem to be able to handle large db sites, I'm constantly (lately) dealing with downtime and server errors.

If my math is right this site alone is doing about 200gb/mo (all my other sites are smaller and non-db driven so I could probably leave them where they are or move them and it wouldn't make much difference).

I've been happy with pair.com, and they are currently reviewing their policy on adult sites. Might be worth asking:

I'm hesitant to even attempt any company that doesn't clearly say YES overall. My very first host was "iffy" like that and I ended up with all kinds of problems (from them cutting me off 2 weeks after I got setup with them knowing full well what my site was ahead of time, then them continuing to charge me after they cancelled ME).

Well, after many, many years with pair I can assure you that will not happen. They will tell you outright yes or no from the start.

you can also check with Hostww (http://hostww.com) . My phpBB site is there now, and I'm changing to vB as soon as I have enough for the owned license. They've been fantastic... the prices are fantastic as is the customer service. The owner joined my adult site, lol. Seriously, give 'em a holler.

Perhaps you have outgrown a shared hosting solution and it is time for a dedicated one? What are your site metrics (active users, etc)?

Yeah, it might be time for you to start looking into dedicated hosting.

Try www.simpli.biz (its who I'm with, great support!) -- I asked them about adult content in the past and basically they don't care just so long as its legal. You can talk to them on aim at 'simpisales' though for more info.

Actually I am on a (shared) dedicated now (myself and one other client/site). Dedicated is exactly what I'm looking into. The problem is finding a place that can handle the needs of both a large db driven site and (is willing and able to handle) the needs of an adult oriented site. The couple that I've seen mentioned here that do allow adult sites don't actually have any adult site customers so they really can't say that they know what they are dealing with. It's a matter of finding a host that already knows they can handle both.
