Hello,

I have done a trial import session a few months ago. After some posting, testing, adding users, removing users, etc, I would like to do the final migration.

But since there are new users registered on the new vBulletin board, among other things that I may have done, it's probably best if I remove all forum, post, user data, etc from vBulletin and start a clean import again. Can someone please explain to me how I can remove all these? The Import->Database cleanup & restart only remove the "import something id" as far as I know.

Thanks.

Just reinstall vB to start all over.

Hello,

Thanks for replying. But I have made some settings to the layout, color, fonts, etc and I wish to keep them. How do I assure that these settings won't go away? Are they kept in mySQL or in a flat file?

Thanks.

You can download your styles, reinstall, then uploaad the styles again.

Hello,

Okay I have just done some experimenting and I think some members maybe interested in knowing. This is what I have done and what happened:
1) Downloaded Styles from AdminCP->Style Manager
2) Downloaded latest 3.5.2 zip file
3) Edited config.php (the new one in 3.5.2 vs 3.5.0 has an extra line)
4) Uploaded everything in /upload directory
5) Ran /install/upgrade.php
Script will take you through the upgrade to 3.5.1, then to 3.5.2
6) Ran /install/install.php
Script indicates that you already have an installed version and asks if you want to delete all information on database.
Selected Yes and install proceed much the same as a brand new install.
7) Deleted /install/install.php and /install/upgrade.php
8) Voila! vBulletin is back to new beginning.
9) Upload style downloaded earlier.
10) Double Voila! vBulletin is back to custom look you created.

One problem though. My vbPortal will no longer function. Any clues?

Thanks.

We cannot provide suppport for vBPortal. You'll need to post on their forums for help.

Why did you re-run the installer if you just ran the upgrade?

Hello,

Because I need the database tables to be completely cleaned out. And upgrade didn't do that.

Thanks
