Summer starts in the UK?

I live on the south coast, and it's really hot for the time of year, I was melting in my car today.

John and I were both out on bicycles today... although in different places ;) lovely weather here at the moment. Good to (hopefully) see the back of that grey crap for a while.

Of course, with summer comes the annoying shiny thing in the sky that reflects off my monitor screen...

Was sunny in Vancouver, BC, Canada too. I was out mowing the lawn, and then rode my bike the the gym.

Almost always sunny here. So much so that I welcome the respite when the clouds come.

It is cloudy here today so it should only get into the high 70's. Very nice weather. Yesterday it was 87 degrees (I am American so that is Fahrenheit).

Oh I live in Southern California.

wayne.. agh that makes me sick ;) i am very jealous

but so nice today, but i have a very red tummy and back now so sort of regretting that whole sunbathing thing a bit. I hear it will be nice 2morrow but then that is it.

and even more annoying than the big shiny thing are the flies and wasps.. one day and they are out, aghh!

LOL Sure Wayne rub it in.... I always loved to hear about Southern CA being in the 60s while we are getting snow storms here on the East Coast!

At least we have had an early summer.... We've been in the 70s for the last few weeks and have even had some days with record heat into the high-80s... my A/C has been getting a workout :)

lol, bbq is exactly what i am thinking for 2morrow :) we are trying to work out where to do it. not sure how my body will take to any more sun at the moment, i am finding it hard to wear a t-shirt.

You can tell when you have a hot day in england because everybody is bright red by the end of it, 1 day of sun and we all go and jump into it ;) idiots!

Wellll....I bought some nice filet mignons at the butcher shop. (Bacon wrapped 8oz filets...mmmmmm). I have all the necessities for a nice green salad and we're firing up the grill. Since it's Mother's Day, I'm taking a break, and letting the DH do the cooking. (Okay....I'm not....he's a lousy cook and I want those filets to be perfect.)

He told me that I get to pick what we do today so I said "Oh good! I'm going to slave drive y'all and make you clean the house!" He replied "Hey! You're not my mother!" So we'll probably lay around the house and tell the kiddo what to do. LOL

Anyway, it's a sunny 65 degrees right now and not quite 9am, so it'll be in the 70's. Perfect weather for a cookout. However, we don't need perfect weather to grill. I have mine set up right outside the back door, so we even grill when it's 20 degrees outside. Bring on the grilled potatoes and corn on the cob! weehee!

Oh well, we've had our summer now. Time to start wrapping up for winter again. :P

Hmm, I dont think that will quite work :-/
Maybe we should build a dom (:)) that is fully heated and has a fake sun?

Stick it in Devon too so when it is nice, we can go and scope the chicks on the beach
