View Full Version : Stopping spammers?

I was searching the web researching various message forum software and I found a site that claims to have an auto-poster available for vBulletin.

Is this possible? Could someone have found a backdoor to bypass vBulletin's image verification security feature and auto post messages? I currently do not believe that it works, but thought I would post to see if the owners could investigate.

The site is:
http://postingtools.com/vbautoposter.html

He requires an email to ask him for the software and I am more worried about him selling my email address or sending me a virus then in vBulletin boards being spammed.

Another is here:
http://www.terrafirmadesign.net/forum-genie.php

But that one seems to only work in vBulletin 2.x and below.

Until the {IMG} and {URL} tags can be independantly turned on and off, spam will always be possible with vB. Limiting Private Messages to certain usergroups has helped a lot.
