Try using Babelfish to translate the pages well enough to get it, if you can't find a Chinese speaking friend to help you.

If you buy the English version of vBulletin from this site, you can download a Chinese Language Pack from the language forum. The vBulletin-Chinese site is a company dedicated to providing support in Chinese. If you don't read Chinese it is probably not the best solution for you.

That's going to be a problem, it's on the mainland (was thinking it was in Taiwan or at the least Hong Kong, where English is well understood, but it's neither). English isn't going to be the first language, which probably explains the delay -- if they have anyone versed enough to handle English inquiries.
Wayne: can vB staff get him in touch with the vB China staff to get a copy? They need it to translate vB into Japanese (IIRC, the Chinese language pack doesn't work right in search results, and they're hoping the full Chinese vB has the search in Chinese too). So they need a full Chinese version.

Thanks very much for your help, escially ChrisM2001!
I get in touch with the vbulletin_chinese staff and paid for one copy and waiting for download information now. The search engine works well with Japanese.
Thanks again

Good news to hear!
Hope the Japanese translation goes well too. It's one of the major languages missing, and one that's sorely needed for business!
Good luck!

Hello! lovevn,
I am also running a Japanese board, and having a trouble with search.php.
I can not search anything using the search.php.
So is it neccesary to buy Chinese version for seraching function?
Is it impossible to ask VB itself to solve this problem?
Our board has almost 7000 posts, but we can not use search function.

I have ask VB staff to fix the search function but they said that they could not fix it. So, I had to buy vbchinese. Please remember that vbchinese just works with utf-8 charset.

Thank you for your answer.
The quickest way to solve search problem with Japanese seems to buy chinese version.
I will take contact to Chinese version, too.
About the encoding, we use utf, it sounds OK.

Hello!
I had wrote like above, but came to a simple question.
If I buy a chinese VB for searching function, when I upgrage next version do I have to do it with chinese site also this site?
I hope VB team think about this issue as their own issue not for just who are using aJapanese.
Maybe I have to write somewhere to write requets.

If you buy from vbulletin-chinese.com, then you'll need to get support from them.

If you are running 3.5.x I'd be willing to port it for you, send me a private message at vB.org. Here is a link to my user profile over there: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?u=1068

One option perhaps could be to buy from vBulletin here, and then translate your forum to Japanese once you purchase and install it.
