To upgrade from MySQL 4.0 to the latest 4.0 versions, you can simply use rpm -Uvh MySQL-server-4.0.XX.rpm but my question is... is there something else I would need to do to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1?
Will a simple rpm -Uvh MySQL-server-4.1.XX.rpm work when I am already using 4.0?
Thanks.

from my experience most times you will get some kind of dependency error meaning it needs something else installed first - that error depends on what you have missing
i just then goodle for the missing item to find the package needed then go to rpmfind or rpm depository to search for it for the specific flavour of linux and install it :)

Thanks, eva. ;)
I tried it on a non-production server and it worked fine so I tried it on our production database server and it also worked fine.
