Anyone has been with them? Is it OK for VB?

THanks in advance.

I do not recommend GoDaddy for hosting. No way. Not going into the reasons here, but just don't host with them. They're great as a domain registrar, but don't host there.

Want excellent hosting? Go to http://www.asmallorange.com/. They support and work with vBulletin users all the way. You won't be sorry.

I do not recommend GoDaddy for hosting. No way. Not going into the reasons here, but just don't host with them. They're great as a domain registrar, but don't host there.Godaddy provided poor service, and earned a horrible reputation as a host. However, they're agressively pricing their hosting-
$8.95 for 10GB disk and 500GB transfer, or
$19.95 for 20GB & 1000GB transfer.

I'm trying a small VB forum on a Godaddy-hosted site right now, and I'm pleased with the site's response time, capabilities, etc.

I'm thinking of leaving my forum on PowerVPS (where I get excellent reliability and support), but putting files (and the traffic to transfer those files) on the Godaddy site. Maybe I can move to a smaller account at PowerVPS, saving more money than the Godaddy account costs. If Godaddy proves reliable, I may offload forums to individual hosted Godaddy accounts.

Godaddy's support is minimal, compared to other hosts. If you need handholding, Godaddy will patiently answer questions, but it may take several hours for each answer to appear.

Nope, not good for vB or any dynamic site. Such cheap solutions cripple the services you need to run vB (and any dynamic page) at it's best.

In hosting this is very true: you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a $5/mon account, don't expect getting the service and function of someone shelling out $250/mon for a server. With the cost of licensing the software (like WHM/cPanel) even used on free distros of *nix, the cost has to be past onto the customer.

I tried to host a vB site on GoDaddy and it was a disaster. They won't change any of the mySQL settings and basically told me to take a hike.

I cancelled the account within 3 days.
