This thread is for discussing the release of vBulletin 2.3.8.
Please use this thread to talk about things you like or installation experiences etc., but please do not use this thread to post troubleshooting queries or bug reports. These threads tend to grow very large and bug reports etc. tend to become lost and will not get attention from the support or development teams.

Do a lot of people still use vB 2? I know of some large sites that do, but overall, isn't vB 2 just about out of official support?

Good to see the 2.3.x line still getting updates. Thanks for the release. :)

How much longer will VB2 be supported?

I'd guess once vB 4.0 comes out.

I think there will be more focused on the vB3 versions. However, I tried to upgrade to the 2.3.8 version, except the only thing it doesn't work is that whenever I upload the functions.php, it just gives me a blank page whenever I visit the index page. I already installed every hack I could think of that I did with the 2.3.7 version, but it still gives me an error. Is there any way someone could post the difference between the 2.3.7 and the 2.3.8 version of the functions.php file?

Just to confirm...
I am running 2.37.... To patch it I just have to upload the two files (global.php and search.php) and overwrite the existing ones in the 2.37 installation and the patch will be complete?

This is normal. The patch files patch only security holes, and don't upgrade the vBulletin version.
For upgrade the vBulletin version, you must to download the entire package in the Member's Area :)

Please answer the question this person is asking above. I consider that to be quite rude that you decided to ignore him.
