As of October 14, 2005..

1. The vBulletin 3.5 manual has incorrect information regarding where to upload the Impex folder and the cpnav_impex.xml file. To run Impex from within your vBulletin install, here is where the folder and file should be placed:

-/Main vBulletin folder/
--/admincp/
--/impex/
--/includes/
---/xml/
----/cpnav_impex.xml

2. Also, once Impex is correctly installed, look for the "Import" link at the very top of the leftside menu in the Admin Control Panel, not at the bottom under the "Maintenance" heading.

Tech support, you might want to make this a sticky until the documentation is corrected.

Yes this would have saved me an hour of frustration. I assumed it would go into a plugin or mod directory, but I followed the instructions anyway. I have been kicking myself for the past hour trying to figure why I actually decided to go with a for profit script.

Thank you very much for the post. You probably saved the staff many repetitious answers if they do change the manual. Much appreciated. :)

The manual is correct :

Installing ImpEx in vBulletin requires the impex/ directory to be installed in the same directory as admincp and the file cpnav_impex.xml (which can be found in upload/includes/xml) to be placed in the includes/xml directory. This because the admincp is generated from XML and needs the ImpEx XML to display the import option.

The compiled .chm manual still had incorrect information when I downloaded it yesterday.

Other than that, your documentation (and scripts) are excellent.

Thanks robertm - I had spent a couple of hours trying to get the import sorted out. Correct placement of the xml file solved it. I can only see it in your example - I can't see it in the manual - so I must just be stupid.
