I'm about to configure and use impex since I have vbulletin running on my new host.

Will I have to upload the .sql file to a new database on the vbulletin server to import using impex? If so what is the best way to upload the .sql file? Will phpMyAdmin work?

How big is this file? If its larger than 2-3 megs than you won't be able to use phpmyadmin. Upload the file to your host and leave it in the first folder when you connect, I'd contact your host and ask them to restore this file via the shell. If they tell you to use phpmyadmin, insist that they use the shell.

Well as luck would have it this is the file I have for use as an import from eve/groupee. I take it this makes a big difference. It's about 82megs. I'm new to vbulletin.

I just took a look at the latest e-mail from groupee before I cancelled just awhile ago.

This was 10/07/05:

Groupee Community update!

It's ready to roll. We will be deploying the Groupee Community 1.2.11
update to all communities this coming week, starting Sunday PM/Monday
AM, with all communities completed by Tuesday morning.

I didn't realize this would be such a problem. I would have planned ahead of time but importing a forum is new to me.

I take it impex may have problems with this version of eve. Is there still a way to import the data to my new VB forum or am I out of luck.

You have to restore that SQL file to the database so ImpEx can connect to it, to do the import.

Eve/groupee is constantly changing, its cat and mouse with updating the importer.
