Solved this myself, thank you... Maybe it will be of help to someone in the future

Hi
I've read many "phpBB import attachment" search results.
I've tried everything I can think of.

I have successfully uploaded and configured my new VB.
I have successfully imported my entire phpBB to my new VB (minus attachments).
I have deleted imported users group (defaulting users to registered group)
I have altered groups and forums to allow attachments.
I have successfully configured boards and test users to upload images, including, creating thumbs.
I have updated all counts from maintenance panel.
I have allowed duplicate attachments.

All modules worked great except for #13 Import attachment.
When I click to import attachments - the module runs through all 8,140
attachment names, prefixed by: "source file not found ::"
Then goes back to Import CP, listing 8140 in the "failed" column.
I've tried doing it in different increments (250, 500, 900, 1000).

My new VB and my old phpBB are at two different domain names.
I thought the "full path to my upload/attachments" would be this:
http://www.mysite.com/phpBB2/files
which is where all my attachments definitely are.
But I read one of Steve's responses to someone about using telnet, going to directory
and typing "pwd."

I don't remember how to use telnet. I tried connecting to http://www.mysite.com but telnet wouldn't connect. So I'm lost when it comes to telnet.

Hope I kept that simple yet explanatory.
Can anyone help?
Need any more info than listed here?

**EDIT
I have also transfered about 60 of the 8,140 over to the same web space/domain as my new VB
and ran the attachment import module using "/public_html/forum/files" in the "Full path to uploads/attachments folder" field.

I have also CHMODed "files" to 777
No source files seem to be found.

**2nd EDIT
Ok... looks like I got it.
I simply use "files" in the folder field. No "public_html" or "forum" or even "/" just files.
So it looks like all files must be at same domain/space.
