Could the members online include an option in the members profile that would enable him/her to disable being listed? In addition could a number be included to show the number of people that are registered and the number of people that are visiting while on the site?

The privacy mode option in the profile, is a general option that hides the user in the online users list, among other things.

Unregistered users online is a bit harder to do straight off. I'll have a think about it.
