I can see why some might feel that way. But I discovered them when I was twenty-two and I think their music is genius. Two completely different perceptions...:) I was always very different and didn't fit in as a youngster, so I relate to their music as though it is genuine and not commercialized.

For sure though, I don't want to debate about this.:) That would be downright silly. I just didn't understand your initial comment, simply because I didn't understand your perception of Linkin Park. To me, they are just like any other band. But that is probably because I am out of the loop and pay no attention to anything but their music.

I have a personal policy of not judging the "artist". I only judge the "art". I don't care if they are in it for the money, I don't care if they are gay, I don't care if they are satanists... I only look at art for itself.

But that being said, I can totally understand your POV. I dislike things that are too commercialized as well. I just probably don't see them that way because I am out of "the loop". I've got a few years on you, and that makes a world of difference when it comes to things like taste in music. When I was 22 listening to them, you were like 16, so you would have the "scoop" on whether they are sell-outs or whether they are considered a "teen angst" sort of scene. I would have no idea. :p

All of this aside, :p, what kind of world would this be if we all liked that same things. Especially where art is concerned. This was just a case of two different opinions on music. Nothing more, nothing less. I surely see no reason to debate anything as petty as that. You gave your perception of the band and so did I. You don't care for them. And I do. Just two different opinions...:)

On another point though, if I was a talented artist and had a successful band, you are damn right I would be in it for the money. That's called capitalism. If you've got a good product, sell it. Sell the h3ll out of it. Again, just my two cents. :)
