View Full Version : How hard is it to find a professional skinner?

I've tried in vain (Sp?) over the last year or so to find a professional skinner, who can meet my requirements
I run a VB forum dedicated to a specific game and want a brand new skin based on it, i.e, with art from the game
But i've never found anyone either (A) willing to do it, or (B) willing to actually find art from the game to use on the forum skin.
(The art is very easy to get, you don't even need to play the game)
So, can anyone advise or offer suggestions?

If it's just a gaming-related skin, I don't see why nobody would want to do it. Many of the smaller design firms have tons of gaming sites in their portfolio.
Is there perhaps something else that might be turning skinners away? Do you have a really small timeframe or very limited budget? Personally, I can tell you that as a general policy, we do not take any clients who need a skin done within ten days.
As a rule of thumb: Good Quality, Completed Quickly, A Low Price. Choose two.

Well, i've not had any offers, that's the problem
My main concern is, the people in the past who have offered, haven't done a skin/style like in invisage

True, can you recommend any?

Well, I don't really have much vBulletin-specific design firms that I can recommend (since I haven't really worked with any of them), but there are a few small independent design-firms that do excellent work (with experience in vBulletin).
I'd say, Avalonstar (http://www.avalonstar.com), New Look Media (http://www.newlookmedia.com) (http://www.newlookmedia.com%29), and Onemode Interactive (http://www.onemodeinteractive.com) are good choices.
Of course, you could always contact me. ;)
