remote import and just the forums and threads

is it possible to do a remote import if i have the address of the old board(snitz) and the login and pass of the db user for the old board, and just import the forums and threads/posts to use as an archive(to use the archive link on vb)?

we just installed vb and are really loving it the way we have it now with fresh registrations and no inactive accounts. in fact that is one of the reasons we started fresh. but the old boards have alot of usefull game modding information we could use.

is this clear enough in what i want?

If the source database will allow a remote connection from the server that impex is running on yes you can. Though its usually much faster and easier to move the database.

Moving the database is always going to be faster in my experince.
