How much integration help can I expect if I move across from IPB 2.0.4?

Someone I know recently did this and it took them over 25 hours worth of work to sort everything out as around 100 of their users had a corrupted profile and the database had to be edited manually, something which I dont have a clue how to do!

Im very keen on VBulletin as I am hoping it offers the extra features I want and also integrates with mambo but I am a little worried about how much work this could be to do!

Thanks

You can get full support for intergration with Mambo and other scripts over at vBulletin.org once you've purchased vBulletin.

As for sorting out the database - if you use the ImpEx script (once you've purchased vB, can be found in the members area) the vBulletin.com can support you. However if you use other means of importing the database then you'll have to ask elsewhere; namely vBulletin.org

Since you can import from IPB to vBulletin multiple times (it is a nondestructive import, not a conversion), database corruption would be the fault of the IPB software.

I don't know how often IPB forums get corrupted. Only a fool would delete a functional IPB forum before they've verified that everything exported and imported properly into vB.
