Some styles not compatible?

I uploaded a few skins on my new site. For some reason, 3 or 4 of the skins have X's and all of them in the same places. It's the statusicons and go to post icon, the search icons, and I think post reply and quote thingees.

Is it because it's incompatible? (although they are 3.0.x version, they are not 3.0.8, which is my version). I want to know if I should bother trying to correct it, or just delete the skin as it's not working??

Edit the StyleVars for each style and make sure all the image paths are pointing to where you put the images for that style.
