I am trying to import using impex. All goes well until I attempt to import the 500,000+ posts I have. Impex times out after about 300,00 posts, then returns a Can not find server or dns error.
I have the php memory set at 32 megs.

Run impex stand alone, i.e. not in the admincp and browser to it directly, as for the DNS error I'm not sure what could be causing that.

I've tried running it outside the forums, as you will see from the following error message
Warning: main(./impex/vbfields.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/virtual/site3/fst/var/www/html/impex/index.php on line 134
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './impex/vbfields.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/php') in /home/virtual/site3/fst/var/www/html/impex/index.php on line 134
Is there something I am missing here?
I migh also add I am running impex in msie 6.0 in sp2 with no additional features or tool bars added to msie.
Thanks in advance.

I have read the following response to another thread
ImpEx is always kept current with the latest stable version of vBulletin and nothing else, so now the target is 3.0.8.
I am trying to import vB 3.07 to vB 3.07 should I have upgraded to vB 3.08?
Thanks

Have you moved the whole folder out or just the index.php file ?
ImpEx is designed to work with the latest vBulletin version, though it will work with 3.07 yes.

I have impex still within the forum folder, I am calling from outside the admincp ie,
www.mydomain.com/forums/impex/index.php (http://www.mydomain.com/forums/impex/index.php)
Is it possible to run impex from the command line?

There isn't a CLI version yet, its being looked into though.

I take it there is no solution to this problem.

I'm not sure as I don't know what the cause of the issue, though its not going to be the board size as I've just completed a 2million+ post phpBB2 import.
If its virtual storage there might be a conflict with the include_path within PHP.
All I can suggest is starting a support ticket and asking for me so I can look at the server and find out why the files are not being included correctly.
