View Full Version : Usergroups duplication

Upon importing from UBB.threads, my usergroups are duplicated. Administrators are placed into a new usergroup "Administrators" not the default usergroup "Administrators." (yeah, same name, it gets confusing) See the screenshot attached.

I know I can use the move users to move these over, BUT it only lets you move users's primary user groups. Or am I missing something? How can I move the 8 admins who have "Adminstrators" (imported) as their additional usergroup into having the real Administrators as an additional usergroup?

Probably no easy way, I'll have to do it manually, huh? Thank god I can easily do the 12,178 Users easy enough since its their primary group.

And it looks like yet another bug with the users not being placed in the "Registered Users" default group.

They are not duplicated, they are separate groups so they are imported with their original groups intact so you know who are the original and who are the new users and groups, as explained in the howto.

The user groups may have the same name, but as you can see from your own image, one set are default and one are custom.

Nope, you can run SQL to move them over, or do them manually if you really want to.

This is not a bug at all, putting them in the registered group would be bad design. Reading the howto will explain this.

Alright, well I missed that part of the howto I suppose. The import certainly did not run as I expected and is taking ALOT of manual work for me to get transfered. Work that I expected an importer to do.

Thank you for your timely response.
